Serving meals and hope to Flint neighbors facing hunger and hardship every day

$5,000 goal

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to stand with the South Flint Soup Kitchen as we continue serving meals, comfort, and community to our neighbors who need it most. Every day, individuals and families walk through our doors seeking more than food—they come looking for hope, dignity, and a place where they are cared for.

Your support makes that possible.

Last month, a young man named James came to the South Flint Soup Kitchen after recently losing his job. He hadn’t eaten a full meal in two days. When he received lunch, he told our volunteer, “This is the first time I’ve felt safe all week.” In the days that followed, James returned—not only for meals, but for connection and encouragement. With support from our staff and volunteers, along with clothing from our Angel Closet, he regained confidence and stability. Soon after, James felt ready to begin applying for jobs again—a fresh start sparked by a single meal.

A simple meal opened the door to rebuilding his life. That’s what your generosity does.

This Giving Tuesday, your gift helps us:

  • Serve nutritious meals to individuals and families in need

  • Provide a safe, welcoming environment for anyone seeking support

  • Connect guests with resources and pathways toward stability

  • Ensure no one in our community has to face hunger alone

Every donation—large or small—helps someone like James take their next step forward.

Will you help us continue this mission with a Giving Tuesday contribution? Your kindness ensures that South Flint Soup Kitchen remains a place where hope is served daily.

With heartfelt gratitude,

South Flint Soup Kitchen
