Hey friends,

Last year 273 Detroiters lost their lives to gun violence. One is too many. With a rate of 2,057 violent crimes per 100,000 people, Detroit was the second most dangerous city in America behind St. Louis.  We are attempting to fundraise money to buy 1,000 guns off the street. $50 pays for one handgun, $150 for all other firearms.

The best part is, after the handguns are purchased we are going to melt them down and turn them into garden tools like the one you see in the picture above. Guns ===> into garden tools. Help us meet our goal by donating $50 to help us buy one gun off the street. It might just save a life.

The gun buyback program will take place at 3785 Cass Avenue in Detroit MI. Help us make our neighborhood and city safer today. This event has been made possible through the support of Birmingham First United Methodist Church’s Church and Society Team, University of Michigan Dearborn , Fems for Change, Wayne State University Students Demand Action, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
